Sweden, Tiveden National Park

In the heart of Sweden, halfway between Gothenburg and Stockholm, lies Tiveden National Park. Just a stone’s throw away from the hustle, noise, and stress, silence and tranquility spread across one of the southernmost old-growth forest areas in Sweden.

Here, adventure awaits those who seek enchanting natural beauty, marked by massive moss-covered boulders, majestic old trees, and steep ridges with rocky plateaus.
You are welcomed by Jessica and Klas, two adventurers and nature lovers who, after many years as guides in Africa, have found their place on Earth in this unique national park.

What’s also unique is the horses. There are a few Icelandic horses and several larger breeds. But the special thing is that they all tölt – a smooth gait. These are comfortable horses, seemingly made to carry people through forest trails over roots and rocks.
You stay close to nature – and enjoy delicious meals cooked with care and a focus on sustainability. Between the rides, there’s time for sauna baths, silence, laughter by the fire, and true relaxation.

What truly sets this place apart from many other nature destinations is the strong commitment to sustainability. Owners Jessica and Klas live what they teach, with clear-cut-free forestry, biodiversity, and a deep sense of responsibility for the surrounding landscape. You notice it in everything – from the food and building materials to how the business is run.

But perhaps the very best part is the feeling – the warm, welcoming atmosphere. This is not a tourist machine, but a place where guests often become part of the community. Many return, not only for the nature, but for the peace, inspiration, and genuine human presence.

The farm is located in the magical forests of Tiveden, right on the edge of the national park, surrounded by lakes, cliffs, and mossy trails. Here, you truly get away from everyday life and settle into something quieter and more genuine. It’s a place where you hear the wind in the trees more than traffic, and where the stars shine brightly at night.

The accommodation is simple yet thoughtful and beautifully integrated into the surroundings. You’ll stay comfortably in one of two guesthouses on the farm. Rooms are double occupancy with shared bathrooms, often with views of water or forest. This isn’t luxury in the usual sense, but rather the warmth of a fire, the silence, and waking up to birdsong. You sleep in the heart of nature – quite literally.
Single rooms are available at an additional cost.

Wine and beer are not included with meals but can be purchased.
Many guests stay additional nights. If you’d like help booking extra lodging, activities, or meals, feel free to contact HorseXplore.
