Netherlands, Terschelling
The Dutch island of Terschelling is located about 15 km off the coast of the Wadden Sea in the North Sea. It belongs to an archipelago called the Frisian Islands, and of course you should ride on beautiful Friesian horses here.
The island is known for its 30 km long sandy beach which is made for lovely gallops. Here you can enjoy wonderful rides in exciting nature all year round. The different rides take you through the picturesque sand dunes, past cranberry fields, through the idyllic forest and of course along the beach. One day you might do an evening ride, which ends around the campfire. During the week you will have access to a free bicycle when not riding, and with that you can explore the island during the free time.
The rides are suitable for both beginners and more advanced riders as you will be divided into two groups depending on riding experience.

Program

The different rides take you through the picturesque sand dunes, past the cranberry fields and the idyllic forest and of course out on the 30 km long sandy beach on the island. One day you ride a 2 hour ride in the morning and then an evening ride, which you end with cozy social activities around the campfire. You have a day off and that day you can explore the island by bike. On site you will get many tips on sights. During the summer (July, August) there is the opportunity to swim with the horses depening on weather and riding experience (not included).
Week: The week includes 7 nights, 5 riding days: 5 x 2 hours, 1x 3 hours.
Short Week: The short week includes 4 nights, 3 riding days: 2x 3 hours, 2x 2 hours, 1x 5 hours.
Horses

Here you find about 30 Friesian horses (about 150-182cm). English saddles.
The Friesian horse, which is always black, is a beautiful and muscular horse that moves proudly with high leg lifts. It is unusual in that it has a lot of feathering at the fetlock, although it is a light horse. The Friesian horse is also, with its gentle and friendly temperament, very pleasant to handle and ride.
Other activities
The great beach and the North Sea is excellent for kite surfing, windsurfing or sailing. The island also has about 250 km of hiking trails and is especially easy to explore by bike. On request, transport can be booked on site (extra fee).

A Dream Come True
Everything was excellent – the accommodation, food, horses, and riding. The best part was that I traveled with my 13-year-old grandchild, who had a dream of galloping on the beach. And we truly got to do just that!

A Warm Welcome and Amazing Horses
A friendly and heartfelt welcome, even though we arrived late and they were busy with many visitors and horses.
Great breakfast, friendly staff, and it was fantastic to have good bikes ready upon arrival. The option to have breakfast delivered to the room at no extra cost if you needed to eat early was a big plus.
The kitchen was well-equipped for cooking your own meals.
The horses were calm, steady, and forward-going, strong enough to navigate the terrain. A warm and family-like atmosphere, thanks to the stable owner and his dedicated family.
It was a fantastic experience on a beautiful island with stunning nature!
