From the vast beaches of Rømø to Sylt, Mandø and the open sandbanks of Koresand, each ride offers something new to discover.

Between rides, there is time to relax, socialise and enjoy your stay. This is a holiday for riders who want to combine plenty of time in the saddle with nature experiences and good company.

Preliminary day-by-day-program

Sunday – Welcome to your riding holiday
On arrival, a dinner buffet is served from 6.30 pm. At 8.00 pm, you will gather for a welcome meeting, where you can get to know the other participants and hear more about the riding adventures planned for the week ahead.

Monday – Meet the horses and discover tölt
The week begins with a guided tour of the stables at 8.30 am, giving you the opportunity to meet the horses and learn more about life on the farm. This is followed by an introduction to and demonstration of tölt, the Icelandic horse's distinctive gait, before you take part in a riding lesson on the oval track. In the afternoon, you head out on an approximately three-hour trail ride along Banandune. This is a chance to settle into the rhythm of riding and enjoy your first ride together as a group. In the evening, relax with a film, accompanied by coffee and tea.

Tuesday – Riding adventure on Sylt
Today's excursion takes you to the German island of Sylt, known for its coastal scenery and long sandy beaches. The excursion lasts approximately eight hours, including around three to four hours of riding. It is an exciting day combining time in the saddle with new surroundings and the opportunity to experience one of the region's best-known islands on horseback.

Wednesday – Mandø and a visit to Rømø
In addition to the beautiful island of Römö, the island of Mandö is also available to explore. Here there are only 35 residents so winter time is very quiet. Here the equestrian center has a small farm, called Mandøgården. With this base, a lot of opportunities are offered to explore the nearby island of Mandø on horseback. On this ride, the exact start time cannot be determined until 1-2 days before due to the tide so it can be accomplished. In the stable in the morning the horses are brushed and loaded into horse trailer. They are driven to Vester Vedstad where the horses are unloaded and saddled and the adventure begins. There are trees down in the seabed that mark the path that is best to take to reach Mandö. The horses tussle bravely through the water. This historic road is not suitable for cars as it is rarely completely dry.
The tides are of utmost importance not to be stranded on the island. Therefore, it is important that the island is explored before the water rises again. If the water is too high, horse transport must come and take you home on the new Ebbevej, Lånningsvejen, where cars can also drive. Rain trousers and rubber boots are recommended, even if it does not rain (can be borrowed). When you reach all the way around the island and ride up the embankment you can see the whole island from above. You ride across moors and along the beach and pass through Mandö's only Mandø City. Then you reach Mandögården where you have lunch and enjoy the peace. Then the horses are loaded onto the trailers and you are driven home before the water rises. An entire day full of adventure and nature experiences. Tonight you will sleep extra well.
Back on Rømø, enjoy an excursion around the island, with an opportunity to visit the Hyldahl equestrian shop and browse its selection of riding equipment and accessories.

Thursday – Slagterbanken and perhaps a dip in the water
You continue exploring Rømø on horseback with an approximately four-hour ride in the Slagterbanken area. If conditions allow, there may be an opportunity for your horse to go into the water – a lovely experience for both horse and rider.
In the evening, it is time to get creative. You will work with leather, turning old leather from the farm into a personal souvenir to take home as a reminder of your riding holiday.

Friday – A half-day ride on Rømø
After several days of exciting excursions, another wonderful ride on Rømø awaits. The ride lasts approximately five hours, and you will bring a packed lunch to enjoy along the way. There is plenty of time to take in the open landscape and experience the surroundings from horseback.
In the evening, you will round off the day together around the campfire. Enjoy snobrød, traditional bread baked on a stick over the fire, along with music, dancing and good company – a perfect opportunity to share your favourite memories from the week.

Saturday – Koresand, the grand finale
The week's final riding adventure takes you to Koresand, an extensive sandbank shaped by the tides. The excursion lasts approximately eight hours, including around 3.5 hours of riding.
Today you will experience some of Denmark's most unique and untouched nature areas on the horseback. At Koresand, you have the chance to see gems, seals, a rich bird life and not a tourist or car within sight! You meet in the stable, brush the horses and load them into the horse trailer. Then you drive to Mandö farm. The horses are unloaded and saddled and you ride through the town, over the embankment and out on Koresand, of course with the tides. Koresand is a ca. 24 km2 large sandbank in the Wadden Sea southwest of Mandö. The area is also called the wet desert and for good reason. There is sand as far as the eye can see. If you go far enough, you see neither land nor water. Although Koresand gets bigger and bigger every year, there is no vegetation or permanent dunes as the whole area is still covered by the sea during the storm. It is an absolutely amazing freedom to walk, tolt and gallop across the flat sand, with the feeling that there is not end to it. Plenty of space, the sea all around, good views and no people, it makes Koresand the perfect home for hundreds of seals as well as thousands of birds. After about 3½ hours of riding you are at Mandögården again, where you eat some good sandwiches together. Then the horses are loaded into the trailers and you return home.
It is a spectacular way to end the week, with distinctive coastal scenery and the feeling of having explored four islands on horseback.
